San Francisco Bay Area We arrived in the SF Bay area on Friday AM, stopping to check into our campground in Vallejo (about 30 miles N. of San Francisco). Friday afternoon was spent visiting with Beth's grandmother in Alameda and on Friday night, Beth's cousin watched the boys so that we could go to dinner with her Uncle Dennis and Aunt Sylvia. We ate at a famous seafood place (which I have forgotten the name of) and had dessert at a little Italian place that her cousin Mike works at. Brandon and Geoff stayed over at Dennis and Sylvia's place for the night. Saturday, we spent the day touring the SF Bay area, stopping at Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz and the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Sunday, we packed up and heading to a park on Bay Farm Island where Beth's aunt Karen lives. There we had a picnic for the afternoon and visited with all of her relatives. The weather was gorgeous as the park was right on the SF Bay and the breeze kept everyone nice and cool. Sunday evening, we traveled back to Sacramento to have our RV serviced in the AM. The Living Room A/C unit broke down on Friday. Fortunately, the Bay area has such a nice breeze that we didn't need the A/C in the evenings. Monday, after having the A/C fixed at 8am, we traveled back to Vallejo to visit Six Flags Marine World adventure park. The kids had a lot of fun and we enjoyed watching the different animal shows and riding rides. The day was unbearably hot and we found ourselves sitting in an indoor cafeteria for about 1 1/2 hours to escape the mid-afternoon temperatures. Monday evening, it was back out towards Sacramento for our journey eastward. Pictures from Saturday's excursion:
