Rennsport Reunion II (www.gorace.com)

Rennsport Reunion II was a huge gathering of classic Porsche racing history.  With over 500 cars registered, there was a phenomenal amount of racing history and famous names at a fabulous racetrack.  I was privileged to be able to attend the event and drive both the 911 and the more recently acquired 944.

As I get some time, I'll post photos and more event details.  For now, I created this page as a placeholder for links to my in-car race footage of the 944Cup race.

First, some quick stats -

Started 7th, Finished 2nd of about 35 cars (in class)

Best Lap 2:25.5

Here's a shot of 3 cars (Brain, Joe Hrymack, and Russ Franklin) trying to enter the bus stop together.

The resulting damage to Hrymack's car made it an ill-handling beast.  In turn one, he almost took out Russ.

Sensing blood, on the same lap, I took Joe on the inside in the infield.

Now I know what Russ felt like on that 3-wide lap as I got caught out at the Bus Stop.

Finally, seeing Russ approaching a lapped car at the bus stop, I was able to hang back a bit and get a run on him to the checker.
