Radio Control Hobby

Last year at one of the races, I saw a guy running a gas powered truck and thought it was pretty neat.  Then at Thanksgiving, while at a park near my parents house.  A boy and his father were running one.  After watching a few minutes, Brandon was "hooked".  That's all he talked about wanting for Christmas.  Of course, to properly educated him on this new hobby, I would have to participate as well <grin>.  Since Geoff is a little young to control the gas powered ones, we got him a battery one.  It seems to work out fine as he's not all that interested in it yet.

UPDATE (One Year Later - 4/03)

Well, the hobby has taken hold of us a bit.  First, I purchased a car to race at a local parking lot.  After doing that for awhile, I thought that it would be nice for Brandon to have a car as well.  So, I sold my truck on eBay and purchased a car for Brandon.  To simplify maintenance and spares, I purchased another Super Nitro from eBay for about $50 less than a new one.  Completely assembled but NEVER run.
