B&O Railroad Museum This past weekend we took a trip into Baltimore to the B&O Railroad museum. Although there weren't any trains to ride on like Strasburg, there were still a lot of trains to climb on and look at. In the parking lot, a few large steam engines were parked. As you can see, Brandon almost doesn't make it to the centerline of the wheel.
Once inside, there was a small museum section leading to the roundhouse. They were arranged somewhat in date order in a circle.
Here's an early unit from Europe.
There was one locomotive that the boys could climb on and play engineer.
Another section had a few "hand powered" units.
Here's an interesting vehicle, a modified Dodge for inspecting the lines.
In the early days, this was a "fancy" form of travel.
There were even a few Diesel's in the roundhouse.
